New year on it's way

Well Christmas is over and now we look forward to the new Year and all it will being with it. Let hope for a good one for everyone on this planet we call home. We all know it has it's ups and downs but it all we have so, We can just hope and pray for peace and a better way of life or get and do all we can to make it happen. We don't have to go fare in the world to do something good for others. talking about things that others are doing or not doing will not help, we all have to do our part. I for one will try to do my part as small as it may be. Raising my kids to understand other people and to understand that just because others may be different don't make them bad. Just stop and think be for you say things that may hurt others, goes a long way in this world. being kind and not hurtful. I hope people that use the Internet to put out their opinion think be for they type in the coming year. I have seen and read some really hurtful things on the Internet over the past year.
I for one am doing what I can to help clean up this planet. Green is not just a colour it's a way we can help to make this world last for everyone that will be here long after we have gone. I'm not one to spend a lot of money on the in-things. You don't have to spend to go green. last year I started simple things like recycling to the point that we no longer have a trash pick-up we don't need one anymore everything that can be recycled is. I'm saving a lot of money as well. So what comes around goes around. We changed light bulbs out last year and saved again. Even that gas prices have gone down don't mean we go back to the old ways as well.
Well that's my two cents worth for the New Year.
I hope every ones dreams come true and it's a good year for us all.

Restored the laptop

Well not something I wanted to do but had no choice. Had so many things going wrong it was the best way out. Never had any virus or anything but something messed up the old gal. so got the disc out and wiped her clean as a new born babe. she is working great now just got to reload allot of programs and I will be happy again. lucky I got a good back up so never lost anything. It's going to be slow going for a couple od days but I should be good by the end of the week. I think my Chris had been playing with it the other day that may have had something to do with it.

Almost Christmas

Well not many day's the kids have helped get the house ready. Dec's are up and gifts are hidden ( No Zack don't go looking for them). So it just a waiting game. The kids are busting at the seams they count the days every day some times more they check the calender and count how many days they have to wait. For me well it's is just for the kids, I like Christmas but it does not have the same excitement for me as it use to have. A sign of getting old maybe. Maybe it's all the work that goes in to it. But I love seeing the looks on my kids on Christmas morning that's what make it all worth while, The only gift I need.
Well here are some photo's enjoy.
Have a very Merry Christmas and if I don't get back here a Happy and safe New Year

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Well it time of the year again to get that turkey ready. Time to think about what your thankful for. hope it's been a good year for most. I know it been a little harder then we would like. But I'm thankful for lower gas prices that helps to bring home the Turkey.
I'm Thankful for my kids even when they are driving me around the bend, and I have to say I'm thankful for my old man even when he also is trying to send me around the bend.
I hope you can all find things to be Thankful for, even if you have to look hard and deep there is always some thing to be thankful for.
So have a great Thanksgiving and remember don't drink and drive.

My Chrissie

My Chris has Down Syndrome. He is a wonderful little guy with he own ways of doing things.
Even when things get hard he never gives up. He does not understand many things and gets really mad when he wants to do or say something and it just does not happen. We have learned to understand his needs and wants the best we can.
But when you need a hug he is the best and can make you laugh. he has one of the best sponge bob laughs out there.
A lot of people just don't understand him and shy away. but he has a family that loves him very much and will always be there for him.

Our trip to the state fair

Well we finally made it to the LA state fair this year. The first time for me and Chris. Zac, Annie and Dave have been before but never had the chance to take Chris so we have always stayed at home.
It was not as good as I hope but we had fun. We spent most of our time at the zoo area feeding the animals which was a lot of fun as much for me as for the kids.
Zac wasn't to sure about the giraffe sticking his tough out at him but he only wanted a carrot lol.

kinda liked that guy! we just keep feeding him. Annie and Chrissie wouldn't get anywhere near him.
Chris loved the goats but kept telling them to stay, lol
in case you wondering yes both my boy's have long hair.

He was not sure about most of the animals but we did get him to have a pony ride, which was so great I had to left him up on the pony and he started to get upset but once he sat down and the pony started to move he started to enjoy himself then I had trouble getting him off so the guy went around a couple of more times for him.
for you all that don't know of my Chris, he has Down syndrome and is severely mentally disabled. he is 10 but has the mind of an 18 month old so It's hard for him to see the world as we all do.
Well we spent to much money and walked way to much but over all it was a great day.

190lbs weight loss

OK here Is what I am to day looking and feeling a lot better.

Here is what I used to look like before. It's hard for me to look at the old me I don't really remember how bad I looked but I sure do remember how I felt in the before I was hiding a walking stick behind my back couldn't walk much with out one.

Well It took 18 months but I did some thing many said I could never do I went from 318 lbs down to 128lbs. How do I feel? Thin, healthier, not bad for an old gal like me.
But here is the hard part keeping it off for live. I have to remember that I may look thin but there is and will aways be a fat person inside of me trying to get out. If I ever let the fat one take back control I will fail.
How Did I loss so much? I learned to cook healthy foods that the whole family could and would eat. learned there is more to life then the frying pan. there was one other little trick I did that was to get square plates (You know you can't put as much food on them then round ones?)
I learned I love steamed veggies and so does the kids which was lucky for them lol we eat them a lot and Chicken, fish and Pork has became our main meats. I still eat steak but its smaller and not so often. Pasta is a big part of our life I make sauces from scratch which means I know what is going in to it and what is not.
We still have our little treats, OK! I still have to have a cookie, but one, not the whole packet.

Losing this much weight or just a couple of pounds is never easy. It took me a long time just to get started, Once I did, there was times I wanted to give up. Times when the weight just would not move no matter what I did, but I kept going. This it was all about my health I walked with a stick i had to stop to get my breath my legs and back hurt from all the weight. I have 3 wonderful kids that I needed to hang around for so it was something I had to do. And hay the new cloths I had to buy was not so bad as well lol.

Ok I should have done this in the first place but wasn't sure I could do it but I been asked for a before and after photo. so here goes.
